Does children's confidence in parents break when they find out they have been lied to about santa claus?
My two eldest found out last year that there is no Santa Claus, and yes we did get the phrase you lied to us. We explained the best we could why we wanted them to believe in Santa, and the magic that go's with him, and after they got over the fact he wasn't real they were fine. I don't think they have any less confidence in us now than they had before, no more than i had less confidence in my parents after i found out. But they are really looking forward to helping do the Santa shopping for their little brother this Christmas so they still have something to look forward to.
