How did Herbert Hoover try to solve the problems that would eventually lead to the Great Depression?

NOT HOW DID HE TRY TO SOLVE THE GREAT DEPRESSION!!!...How did he try to fix the problems that would EVENTUALLY lead to the great depression? And, how did he FAIL, in these attempts?
